GOSPEL LEGENDJOHN P. KEE RELEASES THIRD CHAPTERof Tribute to A Legend: Rance Allen Series

0

The legendary gospel artist and producer John P. Kee has delivered the third of four chapters of his Tribute to a Legend: Rance Allen series of digital albums. The seven-track Tribute to a Legend: Rance Allen, Chapter 3 (Kee Music Group / Tyscot Records) pays tribute to Kee’s spiritual father and musical mentor, Rance Allen, who passed away in 2020 after 50 years of pioneering contemporary gospel music. Listen here: https://JPKATTAL3.lnk.to/a4iqtO

This album is comprised of invigorating and brilliant recreations of some of the Rance Allen Group’s most cherished songs. This set is a perfect blend of old-school soul vibes and passionate vocals. It opens with Stellar Award-winning crooner Jason Nelson’s mid-tempo cover of the group’s 1977 gem, “I’m Gonna Make It After All.” It’s a different groove from Nelson’s usual catalog and showcases the upper range of his smooth tenor. Philadelphia native Antonio McLendon brings his sweet soulfulness to “You Never Changed,” a hearty duet that find he and Kee roaring and riffing with deep passion.

Kee and his protégé Zacardi Cortez, an old soul at heart, revisit the Rance Allen Group’s biggest crossover single, “I Belong to You,” which hit the Billboard R&B Singles Top 25 in 1979. Quartet king Paul Porter, who shared vocals with Allen on the original 2011 version “You That I Trust,” returns with Shawn Bigby for a dazzling vocal showdown.

The Soul Seekers’ Teddy Campbell shows up on the throwback groove “I Got to Be Myself” with his elastic tenor. Pastor Kee composed the new song “Always” in tribute to Bishop Allen, who pastored the New Bethel Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Toledo, Ohio. Soul singer Jac Ross wraps his powerful tenor around it with the ambiance of the greatest Sam Cooke records. One of the Rance Allen Group’s most recent radio hits was 2014’s “A Lil Louder (Clap Your Hands).” Kee brings in sibling group Shelby 5 to bring a fresh, youthful flavor to this rhythmic track. The set has already racked up over 200,000 digital streams and is winning new fans daily.

Cornerstone House Music Releases Scripture-Rich Worship Anthem ‘Jesus Now and Forever’

0

In a world filled with constant change, distractions, and competing allegiances, Cornerstone House Music continues to anchor its message in the eternal truth of who Jesus is. Their new single, “Jesus Now and Forever,” reflects on the authority, Lordship, and Kingship of Christ, calling listeners to fix their eyes on Him.

The song was inspired by a meaningful moment following one of the ministry’s pastoral meetings. As the team gathered to plan and pray, they landed on the theme for their October 2024 month of prayer: Jesus Now and Forever. The phrase lingered in the heart of Creative Arts Pastor Daniela Barroso, who later wrote the lyrics of this beautiful piece.

Centered on the majesty and supremacy of Jesus, it reflects on humanity’s ultimate purpose: to worship Him, and reminds humanity that while everything in this world will fade, He alone remains forever. Through vivid imagery and exalted language, it portrays the power, holiness, and glory of Christ while proclaiming His names and titles, such as King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Lamb of God, Holy One, Counselor, Morning Star, and Prince of Peace.

What makes the release especially powerful is its strong biblical foundation. “Jesus Now and Forever” weaves in nearly 30 Scripture references, including Revelation 1:8, Revelation 1:13–16, Revelation 4:11, Revelation 5:13, Revelation 7:12, Habakkuk 3:4, and Isaiah 9:6.

“The message of Christianity isn’t just that Jesus saves, it’s that He reigns and rules now and forever. It helps us keep our eyes on Jesus, live in constant surrender to Him, and look ahead to eternity,” shares Daniela Barroso.

The single was recorded during the ministry’s live recording in September 2025 at a Night of Worship, where Cornerstone House Music introduced several originals, including “Jesus Now and Forever.” It also marked a special moment in the group’s journey as the first original song ever introduced to their church congregation. The response was immediate and heartfelt, with the community embracing it as though it had already become part of their worship language.

What has made this moment even more meaningful for the team is how the song has resonated far beyond their local congregation. Whenever “Jesus Now and Forever” has been introduced in gatherings across the Mid-Atlantic region, from worship nights to conferences, believers have responded with the same warmth and immediacy.

Now available worldwide, “Jesus Now and Forever” offers the Church a fresh anthem to exalt and focus on the name of Jesus above all else.

Charlotte to Host 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards

City leaders announced Tuesday that Charlotte, N.C., will host the 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, one of the most influential celebrations in gospel music. The announcement was made by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority in partnership with the Stellar Awards producers. Organizers say bringing the event to Charlotte reflects both the strength of the city’s faith community and its deep connections to gospel music and Black cultural expression. Pastor John P. Kee and Jekalyn Carr performed at today’s press conference.

“Bringing the Stellar Awards here is not only a natural fit, but it allows us to expand the reach and impact of gospel music in a city that embraces both tradition and innovation, especially gospel music,” said Don Jackson, founder of the Stellar Gospel Music Awards.

Established in 1985, the Stellar Awards has become the longest-running African American gospel music awards show on television and the premier gospel music event in the United States. The program reaches audiences nationwide through broadcasts on networks including BET, Bounce TV, and the Stellar Network.

The awards ceremony will be taped live at Spectrum Center on Saturday, Aug. 15. Prior to the show, there will be a multi-day celebration, Stellar Plus Week, taking place Aug. 12–14. Stellar Plus Week will feature a variety of events tied to the gospel music industry and its fans. Activities are expected to include master classes, soundstages, fashion shows, comedy showcases, and other interactive experiences.

State officials are also supporting the event, with North Carolina providing a $995,000 grant to help fund the festivities. According to reports, city leaders say securing the Stellar Awards represents a major win for Charlotte’s hospitality and tourism industries, bringing national media exposure and positioning the city as a destination for major cultural events.

Information about tickets, performers, and additional events for the Stellar Awards will be announced later.

MICHAEL BETHANY RELEASES LIVE ALBUM, SANCTUARY, VIA CAPITOL CMG’S RE:THINK MUSIC

0

Singer, songwriter, producer and twice Dove Award-nominated recording artist Michael Bethany has released his highly anticipated album Sanctuary. Available now at digital and streaming outlets globally in partnership with Capitol CMG’s Re:Think Music via https://michaelbethany.lnk.to/sanctuary, the 19-track album and companion videos were recorded live at Freedom Church in Dallas (Carrollton), TX.

Produced by Bethany, Ryan Rich (Martin Smith, Elyssa Smith), and Kevin Turner (Marvin Sapp, Tauren Wells), Sanctuary features multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning guest artists, including Maverick City Music’s Maryanne George and Alton Eugene, Elevation Worship’s Isaiah Templeton, and The Choir Room’s Dwan Hill. Carrying a deep atmosphere of intimacy and reverence, the album reminds listeners that worship is more than a moment; it is a life lived as the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.

“This album is a collection of corporate worship songs that help people to see themselves as a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit,” emphasizes Bethany. “It is constantly pressing into the concept of the individual being the dwelling place. I want people to experience the power of God’s presence in their own personal life.”

Bethany shares that this is one of the reasons that explains the length of the songs, which combine for an impressive 100 minutes of music and video: “I wanted people to listen to a song until they got to a place where they can really spend time with the Lord. Typically, a song might be three and a half, four, or five minutes. But if you spend time with the Lord, it’s as long as you have. And so, we just take a journey and create that environment so you can experience what the Holy Spirit’s wanting to do within your own heart and your own temple.”

In the declarative, up-tempo song of prayer “Gold” that is being revealed today on Sanctuary, Bethany says, “ The lyrics are serious about wanting the Holy Spirit to cleanse me, purify me, and make me more like Him until I come out like gold. It’s praying for revival: ‘Lord, I want your holy fire to purify my heart and keep me in that fire until I come out like pure gold. We’re thirsty for Your presence. Revival come.’”

The album also declares God’s greatness even in seasons of uncertainty with “Be Magnified,” a song written while Michael was reading through the book of Habakkuk; the intimate worship song, “Secret Place,” featuring an unplanned moment with Templeton; “Holy One,” written alongside Templeton and Elevation Worship’s Davide Mutendji; and the message of living one day at a time with steady faith and trust in “Step by Step,” written by Bethany to encourage his cousins during a difficult season when their mother was walking through dementia.

As co-founder and president of Bethel Music, she has co-written global worship anthems, including “Goodness of God,” “The Blood,” and “Holy Forever,” the latter of which earned a 2025 GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song in a version featuring CeCe Winans. Worship Recording Artist Casey J Drops Her First Album in 6 Years , ‘The Stories We Sing Vol I’

0

Renowned recording artist/worship leader, Casey J, has dropped her first album in six years. The five-track set, The Stories We Sing Vol. 1 (Casey J LLC / Tyscot), is a lively set of guitar-driven declarations of faith. It was produced by Grammy® Award winner Aaron Lindsey, who has produced gold or platinum-certified projects on Marvin Sapp and Israel Houghton, among others. The set is now available on all digital streaming platforms: https://CaseyJtswsv1.lnk.to/bVz57g

“A great deal of what I found out about God, I learned through stories, and maybe I grasped them as a kid, but they really started to resonate with me as I got older,” Casey J says of her decision to name the album, The Stories That We Sing Vol. 1. “So, I’m inspired by the fact that the people that we are talking about are just people, which means that our lives, when surrendered to the Lord, can have the same impact, that they can resonate with His glory, His nature. So, ideally, we take the stories of scripture to extract God’s nature and to help us live a life that looks more like Him, so that people can use our own stories to do the same thing.”

“This is my first studio project, which is unique for me,” says the Atlanta-based singer whose biggest hits, such as “I’m Yours” and “If God/Nothing But the Blood,” were concert recordings. “It gave me an opportunity to be a little freer, creatively. I think there’s often time, a lot of pressure for a live recording, to serve the moment. And so, for me, I got an opportunity to really consider what things I wanted to capture. This is the biggest writing undertaking you’ve seen from me, with my pen being on every single song. Writing in partnership with real friendships has been amazing. One of the most significant parts is being able to co-produce it with THEE Aaron Lindsay, whose work I’ve admired literally as long as I can remember.”

The collection is a vibrant exercise of praise and worship that straddles the lines of Christian Pop, World Beat and Arena-Styled Worship with a heaping helping of soulful joy. There are the big, atmospheric anthems such as “Rest in Me,” “One Day” and the Billboard Gospel Airplay Top 15 smash, “Song of My Life.” The final cuts find Casey J singing in the person of God and calling His children to “Come Take a Seat” on a poignant midtempo and to “Return” on a passionate ballad. Casey J’s wailing soprano glides over the rhythms, beckoning the listeners to join her in this enthralling worship conversation.

Over the last decade, Casey J has carved out her own musical lane, creating a brand of worship music that blends diverse elements, from traditional Americana rhythms to Pentecostal stylings. It’s earned her over 180 million digital streams. This fusion has earned the former elementary school teacher two Billboard Gospel Airplay No. 1 hits. “Fill Me Up” peaked at No. 1 for 14 weeks in 2014 and spent 51 weeks on the chart, while “I’m Yours” reigned on top of the survey for 5 weeks and spent 44 weeks on the chart. Her sophomore album, The Gathering, featured the Billboard Gospel Airplay Top Ten single, “If God/ Nothing but the Blood,” in 2018. The new album is propelled by the Top 15 single, “Song of My Life.”

Now that the project is released, Casey J is pondering what’s next in her exciting life. “This is always a big question, right? Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Because where I am today is not where I saw myself 10 years ago,” she says. “I hope I find myself in the middle of a Godly yes. That’s really the best I have to offer. I am conditioning myself to pursue saying yes to God as quickly and as often as I possibly can. So, I hope that in the trajectory of my career and whatever that next looks like, that is like wholly centered in a God, yes. That’ll be enough for me. If it’s on a platform, great, if it’s not great. If it’s in a way that people can see, or, in a more global way, great. If it has more of a local impact, that’ll be great too. But for me, my highest pursuit is just saying yes as quickly and as often as I can.”

Inspired by 1 Peter 5:7 — “Cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you” — the single blends reflective melody with a warm, modern groove, carrying a message of surrender, trust, and divine care. Tia Rachelle is known for creating music that centers on faith, encouragement, and giving glory to God through authentic storytelling and contemporary sound.
